New Wes Anderson film!

I didn't even know it was coming, but if you go to this blog http://www.theyellowstereo.com/
and scroll down you can see the trailer for the new Wes Anderson film The Darjeeling Limited.

If you haven't seen his work then check out Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou for examples. If you're a soundtrack geek like Anders you will undoubtedly love these films. It's also worth checking out the blog above to have a listen to some of the songs from previous Wes Anderson film soundtracks. I wonder what people would vote the best soundtracks of all time? Any thoughts?

Anyway, above all they're worth watching because they're brilliant, imaginative, funny, offbeat films with some wonderful performances from some of the best actors around. Plus a lot of them star Owen Wilson, which for me is no bad thing!

Love Becky

YOU PLAY SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE??

Fantastic. When it was first issued my boyfriend and I used to dance our proverbial asses off to "Dance to the Music" in a club called Le Metro in Birmingham. We fell in love to that music! And "Quick Joey Small" by a group called Cast....Cats and the Orchestral Circus(can't spell the first bit). Great times.

Now we've been married 35 years, still dancing, though now we tend to wait until no one's looking.

Keep on rocking.

Yes, and Sly & The Family Stone feature on the Dead Presidents soundtrack I do believe!

However, that's not my favourite soundtrack (here's the geek bit...). Here are my Top 3 soundtracks at the moment though:

1) 'Head' - The Monkees

AWESOME PSYCH STUFF. A FAVOURITE WITH LOADS OF DJs INCLUDING NINJA TUNE'S STRICTLY KEV

2) 'Screaming Masterpiece' - various

LOTS OF BRILLIANT ICELANDIC INDIE AND ELECTRONICA FROM PAGAN ODYSSEYS TO THE REMARKABLE APPARAT ORGAN QUARTET

2) 'After The Fox - Burt Bacharach

I WENT ROUND MY MATE PETE'S AND HE PLAYED THIS JAUNTY LITTLE 60s GEM TO ME WHILE I FILLED MY BELLY FULL OF CHILLI - IT'S GOOD CHILLI MUSIC!
