A mini miracle?

We were heading home from a friend's house late last night (after chilli and wine and the Charlie Brown Christmas Album, which was incongruous but fun) when we passed through one of the less salubrious areas of Nottingham. The only other movements came from the occasional “lady of the night” and a few urban foxes. The orange lights stripped the streets of any romance they might have otherwise possessed, laying bare boarded up windows and litter, making the city seem a slightly desolate place. But then we happened upon a disused building inscribed in neon with the words “I saw the angel in the marble and I carved until I set it free”.

The building was fenced in and security tagged but seemed empty. The words felt like they had appeared out of nowhere. It felt ethereal, a bit magical and fleeting, like we might be the only people who would see it. “I saw the angel in the marble and I carved until I set it free”. In case we were the only people who would see it I took a photo, and when I’ve figured out how to post them on here I’ll show you.

It's on Forest Road! I saw a circus troupe there one weekend - It's pretty isn't it! I think the building is due for demolition.

Thanks for the comments, I really hope you've all had chance to go see it!

Jemma - thanks for putting the road name up, I couldn't remember it when I posted! What a shame it's being demolished!

Jeff - Thanks for that, I'll check out the website!
