Two parties for the price of one... and that one's free!

Hello

It's nearly Easter so we thought we'd spread the word about not one but TWO awesome nights coming up.

The first is Shadowplay's next Jumpers for Goalposts. It's on Thursday (20th March) @ the Alley Cafe. There'll be all the usual fun and games including...

* A creative competition
* Me (Anders of Supernight fame) and Tom (of Not in Nottingham fame) DJ-ing
AND
* The lovely folk stylings of Becky Syson singing a few songs live

Then for Good Friday (21st March) our good friends from Yeah I'll Play It Later are throwing a big party at Loggerheads. Just like Jumpers.... it's totally free and it's going to be totally tits!

DJs on the night include Siren, Chris Barrett and the aforementioned Tom Whalley. That GUARANTEES a rockin' rocksteady, rockabilly, party jazz session of the highest order.

AND I'll be opening proceedings with a smattering of French pop, funk and tropicalia.

There'll be live stuff in the caves and free food too.

It's a good job you've got the whole bank holiday weekend to recover really!

Hope to see you there

Party highlights and lowlights...

I know Anders has already said it, but THANKS for coming to our party! We had a great time!

So, I wanted to share with you a couple of the highlights and lowlights of my evening:

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Dancing around (wildly) to Sound and Vision by David Bowie (thanks Nick, I love that song!)
- Enjoying a bit of acoustic music in the caves (thanks to ALL the acoustic acts)
- Watching the NotinNottingham boys enjoying some NiN-branded Birthday cake (courtesy of Asda)
- Getting so many great entries for the Make Your Own Bunting competition
- Seeing the most random entry to the competition which simply stated "Louie pukes bloob" on a torn piece of green bunting. I voted for that to win, but I was shouted down on a "lack of artistic merit" point.

LOWLIGHTS:

- Having some fat guy in a shirt and tie come in the room just after we finished decorating, looking at the bunting-strewn ceiling and saying... "I'm curious..... is that a new ceiling?" ...WHAT?! A new ceiling?!?! What about the beautiful, glorious handmade artist's bunting we just spent an hour and a half putting up?! Philistine...
- Hearing the first strains of SuSuSuSussudio by Phil Collins come out of the speakers while Tom and Spencer from NotinNottingham were DJing. This wasn't the lowlight (although it wasn't a high point either!), the lowlight was having some guy walk through the room and shout "Tune!" thereby proving my "anti-Phil Collins, everybody hates him" rant wrong. I hate being wrong.
- Post-party hangover. Always.

Anyhow, hope you had as much fun as I did?

Love Becky

Party tomorrow!

In case you haven't heard, we're partying tomorrow at Loggerheads from about 9 o'clock and it would be lovely if you came along!

It's looking like it will be a really good one, with some of our friends and favourite acts playing acoustic spots in the caves and a riot of DJs in the main room.

PLUS I just spoke to one of the boys at Loggerheads and there will be a brand new cocktail menu for partygoers to road test. All that and it's my birthday (oh ok it's next week, but I'll be celebrating tomorrow)!

If you don't know where Loggerheads is go here
http://www.theloggerheads.co.uk/ and then come to the party!

Love Becky

THANKS!

I just wanted to thank everyone that came along to the party, played tunes (on the decks or in the caves), took part in the bunting competition and generally made it a great night.

A big Thanks to everyone at Loggerheads. And congratulations to Rob who won took away the goody bag for his bunting entry.

CHEERS EVERYONE!

Wha' G'wan?

Hello there,

I've decided to write a quick update on all that’s going on with Supernight at the moment, so you can rest easy, safe in the knowledge that there’s a great party happening on August the 10th and you’re invited!

First of all, Anders and James are DJing at Rob from Yunioshi’s birthday party on Saturday. It should be a good night, if you want to come along drop us a line for details. Supernight@gmail.com.

Secondly, Jumpers for Goalposts is happening again, under the watchful eye of Supernight! We’re going to be at the Alley CafĂ© on the 1st August with a live act, some great tunes from Supernight DJs and another fantastic creative competition. It’s free, friendly and we’d love to see you there!

Finally, we’d like to tell you about our next party happening on August 10th at Loggerheads. There will be loads of DJs, acoustic acts in the caves and (as usual) lots of booze, decorations and dancing. Come and pretend it's summer!

Anyway, what else have we been up to? Went to see Amy Winehouse at the Eden Project last week which was fun, if not a little weird. I was prepared for her to scat until she was virtually unintelligible, but i didn't expect her to start hitting herself in the head with the microphone by the end of the set! Did anyone else see it? It was decidedly odd.

We also went to a warehouse party this weekend which I think was courtesy of Hugo Mendez, although i'm not quite sure. If it was his party, then check out the other stuff he's up to because it was brilliant. It was in an old "Boys Club" random venue in London which was great, although super hot in the main room where everyone was dancing. If anyone has any pictures of the venue (it's in Dalston called something or other "Boys Club", sorry that's vague) please tell me because it was beautiful and curious and I'd love to post them up here.

At one point we made our way upstairs to what we thought was another bar, but it turned out to be someone's house complete with Golden Wedding anniversary cards dotted around and a kitchen turned into a bar. We also bumped into Pete from Moog - the whole evening was really random. I just hope our party is as good, if not quite as hot/sweaty!

Well, hope you all have good weeks planned. Monday's are rubbish, right?

Love

Becky
